John is responsible for developing dialogues and relationships with Citi’s clients around innovation and digital transformation. Focusing on Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) segment, he looks to draw from Citi Ventures’ differentiated abilities to create new sources of value for internal partners and clients – both by leveraging the D10X and Investing portfolios to expand discussions beyond “traditional” focus areas and by drawing insights from clients to launch new D10X projects and inspire new investments.
Before Citi Ventures, John spent seven years in Citi’s Corporate and Investment Banking division, across New York, Toronto, and London. After starting his career focused on balance sheet management and leveraged lending, John spent the majority of his Citi career as a relationship manager of corporate clients in the Communications and Technology sectors. He has originated and executed multiple transactions involving capital markets, cash management, and trade finance solutions. He also helped onboard and accelerate Citi’s relationships with several “digital native” clients in Europe.
John graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a degree in Government. John is a golf enthusiast and passionate fan of the New York Mets. On his morning commute, he alternates between Harvard Business Review, books on entrepreneurship, and spy novels. He lives in Notting Hill with his French wife.
